IndiGo will start a daily direct flight between Kolkata and Yangon from September 20, making it the 18th international destination on the airline’s network.
Sources said the airline was also evaluating flights from Kolkata to Vietnam’s capital Hanoi, Thailand’s Phuket and cities in China.
The Yangon flight is scheduled to take off from Kolkata at 11.30am and reach Yangon at 2.30pm local time. The return flight will take off from Yangon at 3.30pm local time and reach Kolkata at 4.30pm.
The airline announced a promotional one-way fare of Rs 5,999. The airline has identified Kolkata has a focus city for expansion of international operations.
The airline already operates more than 100 domestic flights from Kolkata.
