Two young students on Tuesday inaugurated two metro escalators at Rabindra Sadan Station at Exide Gate here in Kolkata. These pair of escalators have been one of the two most used escalators in the metro railway. After a long use, the metro authority replaced the old pair of escalators with modern energy saving escalators.
Metro railway has been undertaking several initiatives to replace old escalators with new escalators at different metro stations for further upgradation of passenger amenities.
In a simple function, two school students formally inaugurated these two new escalators, which were thrown open for passengers’ use immediately after the the formal inauguration.
This will be of great use for several school students and their parents, office goers, patients and for regular commuters. Senior officials of metro railway were present in the function.
