Durga Puja is not just about themes and big budgets. It is also about bonhomie and celebrating together. And this spirit comes across best at the Pujas organised in housing societies where every family and each member is involved. The Times Pujo Barir Shera Pujo, under ‘The Times of Puja’ banner, endeavours to reach out to such housing societies that have kept the essence of Durga Puja alive amidst commercialization of Pujas.
The Pujas here may be simple, with no experimentation with idols or pandals, yet the sense of euphoria is no less. This year, CESC Limited presents Times Pujo Barir Sera Pujo ’19 with banking partner Ujjivan Small Finance Bank and associate sponsors Eye Catchers and Vidyamandir Classes. The initial round of judging at 260 Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) will commence on Shashthi.
The second round of judging will be on Saptami, when senior art college students will shortlist 80 RWAs while celebrities will judge the final round on Ashtami. Among the contestants, 20 best RWAs will be chosen for prizes in various categories like idol, pandal decor, idol’s ornaments, cultural programmes, TOI branding presence in the pujo pandal, cleanliness in the pujo premises, energy saving, best innovation and housing complex CSR activities.
Special awards will include CESC green awards and awards for Ujjivan Small Finance Bank My Pujo Best Pujo Contest and Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Young Ambassador Contest.
