The helpline that the New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) had introduced on July 2 has been widely availed by the residents. Sources said that 85% of the grievances received have been resolved and closed.
NKDA officials said the report of first three months shows that between July 2 and October 1, a total of 1014 phone calls have been received, of which 849 cases have been resolved and closed. Of the rest, the issues were resolved but the result is yet to be fed into the system.
Of the 1014 phone calls, 107 were related to malfunctioning or defunct street lights. “All the faults have been attended to and rectified,” said an official. The next issue on which most calls — 62 — came related to cleaning of weeds and shrubs from vacant plots.
