West Bengal: Students take a peek at new career options with experts

Students of Classes VIII to XII from St Augustine’s Day School’s Barrackpore and Shyamnagar campuses attended Augusto Career Fair along with their parents recently. The fair, held on the school’s Barrackpore campus, saw the representatives of 25 national varsities interacting with the students on various career opportunities.

The fair, in which leading institutions like St Xavier’s University (Rajarhat campus), Bhawanipur Education Society, NIFT, JIS Group’s Guru Nanak College and Techno India participated, was open to the students of neighbouring schools. They took online career tests to determine top five options after a counselling session.

Among other participating institutions were Ashoka University, FLAMES, UPES, Pearl Academy, NMIMS, Universal Business School, World University of Design, Bennet University, Anant National, Mahindra Ecole Centrale and Presidency University.

Atria, Shiv Nadar, OP Jindal, Ashoka and NIIT Universities conducted workshops for parents on their role in helping the students choose career options. The focused career sessions were pertaining to medicine, law, company secretary and mass communication.
