Jadavpur University has taken an initiative to develop three-layer masks with low-cost materials through its Centre for Appropriate Social Technologies (CAST), an Idea Incubation Centre under RUSA 2.0.
“This kind of mask is now required to combat Covid-19. At present, it is difficult to supply masks in every corner of the country. Besides, a section of our population is unable to purchase the masks because of financial constraints. Keeping this in mind, we have tried to come up with a simple procedure for developing three-layer masks,” said the JU vice-chancellor Suranjan Das.
