The Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority (NDITA) has decided to construct a new road alignment in Sector V that will connect the upcoming car parking plaza in AQ Block with Salt Lake Bypass near the Technopolis crossing. The road will help improve the connectivity between Sector V and the airport-bound road.
A decision on setting up this new stretch, which would be around 200m long, was recently taken at the NDITA board meeting. Tenders have been floated and the new road is expected to come up by the end of this year. At present, it is a narrow road through which only a rickshaw can pass. The stretch, once expanded, is expected to become operational from November.
The road will join Salt Lake Bypass, near Technopolis building. According to plan, it will be a two-lane stretch with a narrow median divider in the middle.
At present, airport-bound motorists take the main road, crossing important intersections like College More and Webel More, before getting into Salt Lake Bypass after which they have to take a right turn to head towards Technopolis and then take the airport-bound flank of the main arterial road of New Town.
