Around the time Unlock2 took place, the unit of Anshuman Pratyush’s action thriller, SOS Kolkata, started their shoot schedule. The story is about a suspected terrorist attack, where Yash and Nusrat play anti-terrorism officers. Mimi plays Yash’s wife. Producer Ena Saha plays a bubbly girl, Angel. As the story progresses, her brave personality is revealed to the audiences. The film, produced by Jarek Entertainment, tries to show characters fighting uncertainties just like people are struggling to survive this pandemic.
“Shooting for the last 10-12 days, I am super excited not just as an actor but also as a producer. My entire unit is being very supportive in this time of the pandemic when individual safety is of prime importance. People are managing the shoot with masks and gloves on in this heat and ensuring not just their own safety but also of other’s,” said Ena.
Nusrat Jahan, Mimi Chakraborty and Yash are also equally excited with the film’s progress soon after easing of the lockdown. “My character is written based on the life of a man who exists. There are a lot of traits in common. I didn’t know this earlier. But I was told this. It’s about a man in the forces so it’s a de-glam character. When we try to build a character around a real person the job becomes tougher for an actor. We have to let go of own mannerisms and follow character traits. This is a different experience,” Yash shared.
Nusrat is also gung-ho about playing a lead in the film with all precautions in place. “I am glad that we are about to successfully wrap up shoot for the film and we have abided by every rule and regulation that came to us from the federation. We have worked with a small team in hand so that distancing is maintained well. I am very happy to be associated with the film because Amanda was the character I wanted to play and I got to play. She is smart, intelligent, witty and gritty,” Nusrat said.
Mimi too vouched for the safety on set. “We are almost nearing the end of our shooting days. But each and every day there was ample precautions on set so that social distancing and proper hygiene were maintained. Pray that we are able to complete the shoot properly and gift you all a good movie this puja,” Mimi said.
Since every actor is mindful of the crisis the world is in, the film too shows that there is a hero hidden inside every human being — a part of us that comes to the fore in times of crisis. “My character, Angel, is a front desk manager and the message the film wants to send across is that there is a hero in each one of us that come out in times of crisis. Our film’s hero is the story we are trying to tell. All the actors are doing a superb job. They are co-operative and it’s a great feeling for me that my first production is looking so beautiful,” Ena said.
