Students of Julien Day School’s Elgin Road branch shower flowers on principals and guests during a welcome dance on the occasion of the release of a music video on Thursday. Principals of Anglo-Indian schools have come together to sing “We are the World” to deliver a message of “solidarity and unity”. The Association of Heads of Anglo-Indian Schools in India, Bengal chapter, and the Julien Day Group of Schools have made the video. The association’s all-India conference will be held online on Saturday. “This theme is very apt, especially in the present condition when we are recuperating from the pandemic and it is to send the message of not giving up. It is to also send across the message to all that we are the Anglo-Indian schools and we should be proud that we are the pioneers of education. We may be a small community but a strong and vibrant one. Therefore, we shall stay united to fight the various challenges that our institutions may face,” said Richard Gasper, the principal of St Augustine’s Day School, Calcutta, and vice-president of the association.
