The century-old Chandi temple at Behala will be inaugurated on Monday, after going through a major renovation. The temple trust spent over Rs. 3 crore for revamping the temple and planning it to make a heritage site in the city.
“There is a water body inside the temple complex and on it a temple of Mata Vaishno Devi is being built. We have also set up a children’s play zone and an open air gymnasium inside the temple. Now, we also have temples of Vajranj Bali, Ma Sitala, Radha Krishna and Khatu Shyamji inside the area,” said Tarak Singh, president of the temple trust.
