Students in Kalimpong have developed an automatic hand sanitiser dispenser by using bamboo and waste materials. The product that costs one-fourth of the conventional ones available in the market has been installed at Kalimpong District Hospital, Kalimpong Municipality, local police station and traffic police offices.
“The dispensers available in the market are expensive and not meant for the lower middle-class people. We used bamboo and waste materials like wires, plastic bottles,” said Valentine Shankar, member of the students’ voluntary organisation, Samarthan. TNN
