Several bars and restaurants across the city are reaching out to their customers to assure them that it is safe now to visit their establishments as all of their employees have been vaccinated. Some of them have put up boards announcing the vaccination of their employees outside their establishments while others have used social media to inform their regular guests about the matter. Others are sending messages or calling up their customers to inform them that they are open with the vaccination of their all employees.
The government allowed bars and restaurants to reopen from June 16 on the condition that they would vaccinate their staff and follow all Covid-19 appropriate behaviours. Since then, there had been a scramble among the owners of restaurants and bars to get their employees vaccinated.
Ar Han Thai, a bar and restaurant on Bentinck Street, has written on the wall at the entrance that their all employees have been vaccinated. “All our employees have received their first dose of the vaccine,” said the manager, Manoj Singh.
Since bars and restaurants can stay open only between 12 and 8pm and cater to only 50% of the capacity, many outlets are operating with only 50% of their staff.
Oasis on Park Street has taken to social media to inform their guests about the vaccination of their staff and other safety protocols that are being followed. “We started getting our staff over 45 years of age getting vaccinated in April. Even those aged below 45 years have been vaccinated as well,” said Pratap Daryani, managing partner of Oasis. Manthan and Song hay on Waterloo Street too have put up boards outside, informing that their employees are vaccinated.
