KMDA finishes health report of 8 bridges

The Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) has completed the health survey of eight major bridges in the city and will send the report to the finance department for the financial clearance. The KMDA authorities are hopeful to start the repair work within a couple of months on priority basis after they get the necessary clearance from the finance department.

After Majherat Bridge collapse, KMDA under the instruction of CM Mamata Banerjee, started a thorough survey of all the major bridges and conducted the health audit of eight bridges, including major bridges like Sealdah flyover, Bijon Setu, Chingrighata flyover, Aurobindo Setu, Ultadanga Flyover, Kalighat Bridge, Tollygunje Bridge and Bagahajatin Bridge.
